Why does external plaster require a different cement-sand ratio than internal plaster?
External plaster is exposed to Bangalore's sun and monsoon rain directly, so it is often specified with a richer cement content or a waterproofing admixture to resist water ingress and weathering better than an internal wall needs. Internal plaster can generally use a leaner mix since it is protected from direct weather exposure.
